Interior Design Process

Many clients are unsure where to begin and how to pull everything together to achieve an end result that reflects their aspirations or vision. Our role is to listen to you and uncover your goals and needs for your project, and break it down into stages to achieve your dream home. Our expertise lies in creating a design that fits with the architectural style of the home, reflects your individual tastes and preferences, and showcases products and design ideas that you might not have thought of or considered on your own.

Free Discovery Call
If you have a project you would like to discuss, please reach out to schedule a free discovery call. In this call we will have a brief discussion about your project, what it is you’re wanting help with, and if we might be a good fit to work together.
Design Consultation
Following the discovery call, we’ll schedule a time for a 60-90 minute design consultation, either virtual or face to face. The aim of the consultation is to gather a comprehensive brief and to understand the full scope of the project. We will discuss any problems that might need solving, get a feel for the home and those who live there, and gain context on what’s going to suit the age, character and location of your property. We will discuss goals, current likes and dislikes, budget, and timeframes. I will take photos and measurements, all of which will enable me to get your designs underway, and to refer back to throughout the design process.
Fee Proposal
Following the consultation you will be presented with a fee proposal broken down into stages for your project, and the level of investment required to undertake your project. Apon acceptance of the fee proposal, a deposit invoice and contract for services will be issued, after which, work will commence.
Design Concept
You will be presented with a design concept following the brief provided at the consultation. This will include 3D and 2D visual imagery, physical swatches, mood boards, and some basic elevations with dimension to give you a comprehensive understanding of our vision for your home. At this stage you might be given several options to choose from, before we start to refine the finer details of your project.

Documentation
Once the design concept is approved, all the finer details are ironed out, and you will be provided with comprehensive design documentation additional to the approved design concept. This will included detailed elevations with all dimensions, a detailed fixtures and finishes schedule including all the items specified in your design, plumbing, lighting and electrical placement, material selections and more. The documentation provided will contain all the necessary information for your builder, plumber, electrician, tiler, or cabinetmaker to execute our vision.
Procurement
Interior Style has extensive knowledge of local and international brands, products and suppliers to ensure your home is filled with the right pieces to achieve your design aesthetic. Working to your budget, we can compile a comprehensive furnishing plan. Once approved, Interior Style can manage all the purchasing, deliveries, and installation on your behalf.
Construction
Interior Style will liaise with trades on your behalf throughout the process, and will attend site meetings at critical stages to ensure your design is executed correctly.
Install
Once your home is nearing completion, all of your furniture and styling pieces will be installed, along with any window treatments or upholstery included in the design. The designer will ensure everything is in place, arranged and styled to perfection.
